Episcopio – Brindisi

As for the restoration carried out, the urban context in which the building, object of the intervention stands, is specifically that of the historic center of the city of Brindisi.

In particular, the building, which is owned by the Archdiocese of Brindisi – Ostuni, stands on Piazza Duomo, which represents especially, considering the whole city, the oldest urban space and, in the same way, the most characteristic of the urban center, although the city is full of history. It houses, especially inside, buildings of considerable historical and also architectural value such as:

Cathedral;

• the Archiepiscopal See (mainly the object of the restoration project);
• the Palazzo Balsamo;
• the San Vincenzo Institute;
• the Provincial Archaeological Museum.

The purpose was to carry out consolidation interventions and also restoration of the external curtain walls.
